(This is a short/condensed version of Luna's backstory while I finish the much longer version)
In her early teenage years, Luna Meadows didn’t really respect UNAS authority, at least not when it came to the world of technology. When she grew a bit older, she came across a “Hacktivist” movement that called itself the DFM, or Data Freedom Movement. Luna quickly began to learn more about the movement, and soon after discovering it, had started to exchange messages with some of its members.
In 2247, Luna adopted the alias or codename “Midnight Moon”, and soon after attempted to hack UNAS military filesystems to gain access to their files around the UNAS raids of Freebelt outposts. This attempt, through either a trap laid, or simply a few mistakes, led to her arrest. However, a group of what was later revealed to be freebelt operatives on Earth intercepted the officers that were taking Luna to jail after her arrest.
The Freebelt operatives managed to whisk Luna off-world and safely out of the immediate reach of UNAS, taking refuge in Freebelt outposts hidden in the outer sections of Sol. She quickly made friends here, but when the micronova struck around a year later, she lost communication with many of them, and never saw some of them again.
When it came time for the gate to flare to life, Luna used her skills to help a freebelt marine team take over a series of small UNAS scout craft by patching the records to make it seem like they were never attacked and were still in UNAS hands and scheduled for the next gate activation.
Taking nothing but basic necessities, her prized computer, and one of the small scout crafts she helped liberate, Luna slipped through the gate right under the noses of UNAS authorities, and arrived in Anubis in-tact. Nobody really knew what was out there, but Luna knew she would be able to put her skills to use, and got to work looking for a spot to set up what she would call home.
