The Scarlet Guardians started off as a PMC group, doing the odd job here and there so the UN didn't have to. They were making good money too; allowing them to continue growing well into the golden ages of the UN. Normally they found themselves interacting with Cascadia, but even that eventually became busy work for them. As the UN grew however, so did it's enemies. When the UN made it's move to neutralize Cascadia, TSG was at the forefront; finding themselves leading the charge against their own people.

But to them, it was all for those sweet, sweet credits. They got paid well for the job, and to keep their mouths shut; so that's what they did, and funneled those credits into bulking up their fleet so they may dominate the PMC market. However, as we all know, things come to an end. With TSG so rich and corrupt, they couldn't see the keg under their seat; and found themselves blown to hell when the spark was lit. With TSG's HQ destroyed on Luna, their forces scattered to the winds; splintering off and forming their own factions for their own causes. One of these factions, The Nexus; took up arms in it's own system and usurped the ruling UN government there. With a new fleet in their arms, they began to rebuild the once powerful TSG; throwing out their PMC values in place of a more governmental role.

By the time the BA was created, TSGN had already spread through multiple systems; securing them and allowing them to prosper freely under their protection. After some diplomatic discussions, the BA managed to commission TSGN 8th fleet forces to assist in the Solar Expedition; resulting in Nexus forces covering the retreat of BA escape pods during the ambush. Today, 8th fleet is officially considered KIA; after a mutiny sparked a civil war.
