Born in an era rife with competitive corporate rivalries and the looming weight of failed deadlines, HSW started as a small machining and manufacturing firm in the highly saturated markets of BA-controlled space. Initially, the company was a mere blip on the radar of corporate giants—its existence likely destined for obscurity. Yet, against the odds, HSW’s story took a turn that would see it rise from the ashes of potential failure to become a major force in the system.

The catalyst for this shift came in the form of a new batch of apprentices, one of whom would forever alter the company’s fate. Whether their arrival was a strategic move to secure government funding or a desperate gamble to salvage a faltering company is unknown, but it undeniably sparked a change. Amidst the uncertainty, a young apprentice by the name of Jax Soren would emerge as the key figure in HSW's evolution. Jax’s innovative designs and technical brilliance quickly set him apart from his peers, elevating him and the company to new heights. Access to advanced industrial technology allowed him to push the boundaries of HSW’s operations, expanding from simple machining into ship design, R&D, and green energy practices. With this newfound growth, HSW began to build a reputation for delivering high-quality, efficient, and reliable products—an image that, in time, would become synonymous with the company.

As HSW’s stature grew, so did the expectations placed on Jax. What started as a beacon of hope for a struggling company quickly became the source of its greatest dependence. The once small firm now relied heavily on Jax’s vision and ingenuity to stay relevant, expand into new markets, and keep the money flowing. From efficiency to redundancy, his ideas revolutionized HSW’s capabilities, making it an increasingly desirable partner for private companies—especially those in deep-space operations. HSW’s designs proved time and again to be tried and true, gradually solidifying their foothold in the market.

Over the following decade, HSW grew at an unparalleled pace. It became largely self-sufficient, so much so that its leadership began to feel overshadowed by Jax’s success. Despite his critical role in the company’s rise, the older, more established leadership viewed him with growing unease, seeing him as a threat to their power. Their solution came in the form of an opportunity from the BA: a large-scale colonization mission to uncharted space—an unclaimed sector full of peril and opportunity. The leadership seized the moment, offering Jax the role of overseeing HSW’s expansion into this unknown frontier, a mission that, if successful, would be a great triumph for the company, but if unsuccessful, would ensure that Jax would be forgotten. It was a way to dispose of him without tarnishing their own reputation.

Originally slated for a 'Mars-like' planet, HSW’s mission was abruptly diverted to 'Titan', a distant exo planet's moon—an inhospitable and hostile world. Titan’s severe weather, toxic flora, fauna, and airborne diseases turned the operation into a fight for survival. Weeks of struggle followed as the crew fought to adapt, regrouping and finding new ways to sustain themselves in the hostile environment. Blue Kaelstrom’s skills as a systems manager and coder quickly earned him Jax’s trust, and he became the right hand Jax needed to continue pushing HSW forward. Together, they began to shift their focus back to the stars, abandoning the land-based colony to construct HSW’s first shipyard—Hestia V1. Though rudimentary and skeletal in design, it provided the necessary infrastructure to continue their expansion. With the shipyard operational, HSW’s mining expeditions to nearby moons and asteroid fields proved successful, uncovering rare and valuable metals that provided critical resources for their operations.

It was during one of these mining expeditions that HSW encountered an independent faction led by CMDR MDK, a highly skilled engineer whose talents mirrored HSW’s own industrial expertise. While MDK’s true identity remained unknown, his designs and work ethic quickly earned him a place within HSW’s ranks. His integration into the faction further strengthened HSW’s capabilities, allowing them to scale even faster.

The rising tension in the system led HSW to diversify further, and using their expanding resources, they began to design and manufacture warships. Initially crude, the first models—including the Hawk, Missouri, and C-110—proved their worth in battle. Designed to withstand heavy punishment and deliver deadly counterattacks, these warships made HSW’s operations safer and ensured the protection of their claimed space. With cost-efficiency in mind, these ships were built to be effective yet affordable, allowing HSW to hold their own against threats from hostile factions and pirates alike.

As HSW’s warship production ramped up, so did their efforts in salvage operations. Reclaiming wreckage from abandoned ships and stations not only provided valuable components but also enabled them to reverse-engineer certain technologies. One particularly valuable salvage operation yielded a cutting-edge propulsion system that would lead to the development of HSW’s advanced liquid fuel burners. These new engines were crucial for HSW’s ability to deploy quickly and efficiently across sectors, and their success further solidified the company’s reputation.

By this point, HSW’s growing fleet and advanced technology began attracting the attention of other factions, leading to diplomatic exchanges and the formation of trade alliances. HSW secured favorable terms in these negotiations, gaining access to new resources and forming strategic relationships with other powers in the region. These alliances, combined with Jax Soren’s declaration of HSW’s independence from the BA, allowed the company to carve out its own place in the galaxy. Jax’s criticisms of the BA’s neglect toward its pioneers had solidified his resolve to go his own way, and HSW was now firmly autonomous.

With their independence secured, HSW began constructing an even larger and more advanced shipyard—one capable of building capital-class vessels. This new shipyard, made from individual redundant pieces and assembled in space, was equipped with defensive systems and weapons, making it a formidable stronghold. New faces, such as CMDR Jet, CMDR Vex, and CMDR Fig, joined the faction, each contributing their unique skills to further HSW’s goals.

By now, HSW’s fleet was growing exponentially. The C-110 was completed, a mobile support vessel designed to extend HSW’s reach by providing logistical support to smaller ships. With docking capabilities for resupply and maintenance, it would prove invaluable during long-range missions. As HSW continued to expand, they also began to design modular fighter series and enhanced sensor arrays, while several new vessels, including the Titan—a massive battleship capable of taking and dealing immense damage—entered service.

The Titan, along with the Progenitor and Battleblue battlecruisers, became the cornerstones of HSW’s military strength. The loss of the OFI hub and the death of SSH’s leader, CMDR Aelsius, were devastating blows to their allies, but HSW’s crew remained resolute, focusing on rebuilding and recovering.

In the aftermath, HSW’s operations resumed with renewed determination. Their alliances continued to grow, including a strategic partnership with the SFM, which led to further cooperation and mutual aid. As HSW’s influence spread, so too did their commitment to defense, innovation, and the protection of their allies.
